Additional SPHN funding for Swiss FEGA
After the successful implementation phase of the Swiss FEGA project, which resulted in demonstrating an operational minimum viable product of the FEGA node in staging environment in December 2025, the consortium is glad to receive additional funding from the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN).
Swiss FEGA enters its operational phase and is supported by SPHN with CHF 350'000.00 for 2026.
We expect to receive the first datasets into the Swiss FEGA node in June 2026: stay tuned for more info!
FHD Community Day & HDTR workshops hosted at SIB
Last week, SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics was glad to host the 2025 ELIXIR Federated Human Data (FHD) Community Day, as a joint event with the Human Data and Translational Research (HDTR) project meetings (meeting webpage). This event was held as a hybrid meeting, with the F2F component in Lausanne, Switzerland.

While the Swiss FEGA technical team is still working hard to get the Swiss FEGA node in production in the next months, we are liaising in parallel with potential users of the service, i.e. researchers and clinicians who would like to deposit genomic datasets on Swiss FEGA.
